Shannon Hills is located at 34°37'19" North, 92°24'3" West (34.621858, -92.400765).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.9 km² (1.5 mi²). 3.9 km² (1.5 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 2,005 people, 748 households, and 594 families residing in the city. The population density is 512.7/km² (1,327.8/mi²). There are 784 housing units at an average density of 200.5/km² (519.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 92.02% White, 3.94% Black or African American, 0.85% Native American, 0.75% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.90% from other races, and 1.55% from two or more races. 2.04% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 748 households out of which 38.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.6% are married couples living together, 13.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 20.5% are non-families. 16.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.68 and the average family size is 2.98.
